JAMMU, Mar 11: The formidable side of Punjab Police thrashed Young Rovers by six goals to nil (6-0), while Care FC Jalandhar got the better of Vijay Club by two goals to nil (2-0) in the ongoing Pt Prem Nath Dogra Memorial Gold Cup Football Tournament, being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA), under the aegis of All India Football Federation (AIFF) at Mini Stadium, Parade here.
In the first match, Punjab Police blanked Young Rovers (6-0). Manpreet Singh and Mahavir Singh scored 2 goals each, while Pawandeep and Paramjeet netted one goal each. Manpreet pelted the goals in 3rd and 84th minute of the match, while Mahavir scored the goals in 22nd and 69th minute of the match. Pawandeep netted the goal in 8th minutes and Paramjeet scored the same in 67th minute of the match.
In another match, Care FC Jalandhar defeated Vijay Club Jammu by (2-0). Onkar and Sagar scored the goals for the winners in 3rd and 34th minutes respectively.
The matches were officiated by Ricky Mehra, Dil Bahadur, Dheeraj Meenia, Rocky and Vijay, while the tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Rakesh Khanna, Organising Secretary of this All India Level soccer event.
