Pundir’s 54 goes in vain as Dutta scripts victory for Rommy Sports

JAMMU, Feb 13: Promising left-handed batsman of Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy, Shubham Pundir’s brilliant knock of 54 runs went in vain as all-rounder, Raman Dutta displayed superb batting and bowling skills to help Rommy Sports Club script a convincing win over their rivals in the ongoing 1st Holi Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, being played at Mandal Cricket ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Mayank Goswami Academy scored a fighting total of 143 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Shubham Singh Pundir scored 54 runs off 24 balls with the help of 5 fours and one six, while Nitesh and Sahil contributed 34 and 22 runs to the total respectively. For Rommy Sports, left-arm spinner Raman Dutta was the pick of the bowlers, who bagged 3 important wickets by conceding 15 runs in his 4 overs, while Monu Singh and Gagan Singh claimed 2 and 1 wicket respectively.
In reply, Rommy Sports scored the required runs in 15.4 overs, with Raman Dutta emerging as top scorer with 15-ball 37 runs and Rakesh Sehwag contributing 28 runs off 19 balls.For Mayank Goswami Academy, Shubham and Sourav bagged 2 wickets each, while Vansh claimed one.
