KATHUA, Nov 4: The prize distribution function of Kathua District Athletics Championship was held here today at sports stadium.
The prizes and certificates were presented to athletes by Majid Mehboob, DySP Headquarter Kathua and Sharat Chander Singh General Secretary J&K Athletics Association in presence of Sanjeev Singh General Secretary Kathua District Athletics Association and others.
The selected athletes in U-14 and U-16 age categories will participate in 17th Milo National Inter District Junior Athletics Meet to be held at Tirupati Andhra Pradesh from November 23 to 25.
In U-14 100 meters (boys), Vipul Yashovardhan, Vishavpartap Singh and Vivek Jagotra bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in U-14 600 meters (boys), Yudhvir Singh, Nishant Badyal and Danish Sajad clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-14 Shotput (boys), Vipul Yashovardhan emerged winner, whereas in U-14 Long Jump (boys), Vishav Pratap, Vivek Bali and Nishant Badwal bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-14 Discus Throw (boys), Shiv Khajuria and Vivek Bali bagged first and second positions respectively.
In U-14 100 meters (girls), Shranya Devi, Manat Sharma and Kashish Devi bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in U-16 100 meters (girls), Uditta Sharma, Shriya Thakur and Sneha Rajput clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-16 Shotput (girls), Tania and Sneha bagged first and second positions respectively, whereas in U-14 Long Jump (girls), Sharnya and Mannat bagged first and second positions respectively.
In U-16 100 meters (boys), Pratham Puri and Aditya Singh bagged first and second positions respectively, whereas in U-16 400 meters (boys), Rohit Sharma, Ganesh Singh and Manik Sudhan clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-16 Long Jump (boys), Partham Puri, Tanish Khajuria and Rizwan Sajad clinched first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in girls’ category, Uditta and Shivya bagged first and second positions respectively.
In U-16 800 meters (boys), Aditya Singh, Charanjeet Bhagat and Mohit Kumar bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-20 Shotput (girls), Riya bagged first position.
In U-20 100 meters (boys), Rohit Singh, Harish Kumar and Janu Sharma bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in U-20 400 meters (boys), Paras Dogra and Sanjeev Sharma clinched first and second positions respectively.
In U-20 200 meters (boys), Vishal Sarmal, Krishan Schalia and Paramdeep Singh bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in U-20 800 meters (boys), Vishal Sarmal, Abdul Razaq and Vishal Kumar clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-20 1500 meters, Aman Kumar, Paras Dogra and Sumit Singh bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In U-20 Long Jump (boys), Rohit Singh, Sanjeev Sharma and Arshit Thakur clinched first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in U-20 Shotput (boys), Tarun Sharma and Sunny Sharma bagged first and second positions respectively.
In U-20 Long Jump (girls), Riya Jasrotia emerged as winner.
In 100 meters (open men), Amit Singh, Vinod Kumar and Sumit Singh bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in 400 meters, Sanjeev Kumar, Surinder Kumar and Papinder Kumar bagged first, second and third positions respectively, in 800 meters, Dalip Kumar emerged winner and in Long Jump, Amit Singh, Manohar Lal and Paaru Dev Singh bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In Shotput and Long Jump (open women), Diksha Kattal bagged first position, whereas in 100 open men, Dalip Kumar, Yashpal and Mohammad Aneek bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In 5000 meters (open men), Manohar Lal, Farman Ali and Balbir Singh clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
