JAMMU, May 29: Kamaljeet smashed a scintillating century as Press Club 11 defeated Lucky Star by 25 runs in an entertaining T20 match played at the University of Jammu Cricket Ground here today.
Batting first after winning the toss, Press Club 11 posted a formidable total of 209 for five in 20 overs. Kamaljeet stole the show with a blistering 117 runs off just 53 balls, studded with 18 fours and five sixes. Captain Rohit Sharma provided solid support with 43 runs off 33 deliveries, while Amit Kumar and Ashu Kumar contributed 17 and 13 runs respectively.
For Lucky Star, Mukesh Kumar claimed two wickets, while Tony and Rohit picked up one wicket each.
Chasing the target, Lucky Star suffered an early setback as opener Gaurav was dismissed on the first ball by Yash Khajuria. Despite a spirited fightback, the team managed 184 for seven in 20 overs.
Dinesh Mahajan took two wickets, while Rohit Sharma, Yash Khajuria, Ashu Kumar and Varun Sharma claimed one wicket each. Kamaljeet was declared man of the match for his explosive century.
