JAMMU, Oct 31: Primary Wing of the Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar today celebrated 59th Annual Day of the school by organizing a grand and colourful cultural programme, here today.
The school children presented a number of traditional dance items, group songs and skits during the programme, wherein IAS Dr Yogita Rana, State Representative in National Rural Livelihood Mission, was the chief guest.
The Minister of State for Revenue Aijaz Ahmad Khan, the Minister of State for Cooperative Dr Manohar Lal, Principal of St Peter’s Higher Secondary School Karanbagh, Father Antony Pepin, Director of Youth Services and Director of Academics, Diocese of Jammu and Srinagar, also graced the occasion.
In the programme ‘Indian legacy-A confluence of Cultures’, the school children from class I to IV displayed their talent by presenting excellent performances of folk, fusion and Western dances. The laudable performances of the students were highly appreciated by the audience, who included the parents.
The students also sensitized the audience to bask in the glory of Indian cultural inheritance and to take pride in it.
The chief guest Dr Yogita Rana, in her address, lauded the endeavour of the staff and students for putting up such a stupendous show and in leaving no stone unturned to make it a grand success. She complimented the management for providing a platform to showcase their talent and for imbibing the students with sound moral and ethical values.
Principal of the school, Sr Rosamma and Vice-Principal Dr Elsie felicitated the guests by presenting them mementoes.
