JAMMU, Apr 30: Pranav Mahajan memorial run was organized at RS Pura on the theme ‘Say no to drugs’, wherein more than 30 runners including senior citizens and kids participated, near here today.
Pranav Mahajan lost his life after running his last half-marathon a year ago. He was a cricket coach, former Ranji player and a highly admired marathon runner. He inspired many to take up running as a sport and was considered to be a local icon in Jammu.
The memorial run was also joined virtually from across the globe including Australia and Canada as well as from various Indian cities such as Gurugram, Nagpur, Srinagar, Patiala and Bharuch. The run was flagged off by SP HQ, Jammu Dr Ramnish Gupta along with SDPO, RS Pura, Dr Nikhil Gogna.
Various reputed persons from sports, social, police and administration fields of Jammu and nearby areas participated in the memorial run. The run was organized by Maharaja Ranbir Singh (MRS) Sports Club, RS Pura, which was founded by Late Pranav Mahajan himself.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Dr Ramnish Gupta highlighted the importance of healthy lifestyle and paid glorious tribute to Late Pranav Mahajan.
