POWERGRID organises Inter-College Debate competition

JAMMU, Nov 3: In an effort to emphasize the need for efficiency and transparency in Public life and also to create awareness among the masses particularly in youths, Power Grid Corporation of India organized a debate competition on the topic “Is Present education policy good enough to inculcate the ethical & moral values in students” in Govt. Women College, Gandhi Nagar Jammu today. Around sixteen (16) contestants from 8 colleges participated in the debate. The debate was conducted in a charged up spirit with all the speakers forcefully highlighting the evils of corruption and immediate need to weed out this evil from our society.
Hansja Sharma of Government College for Women, Parade, Shivani Thakur of Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar and Sapna Devi of Govt. Degree College, Samba were adjudged 1st, 2nd & 3rd respectively whereas consolation prize went to Rashmi Ranial of Government college for Women, Parade.
Anil Jain, Executive Director NRTS-II was the chief guest, Anju Jain, President Shrishti Mahila Samiti and Prof. Kiran Bakshi, Principal Govt. College for Women were the guests of Honour on this occasion. Senior officials of POWERGRID including S D Joshi General Manager (Projects) and R V S Kushwaha General Manager (AM) were present on the occasion. Large number of students and faculty members of the college witnessed the Debate competition. The programme was coordinated by Sudhir Dhar, Manager (Vigilance), POWERGRID and his team in association with Govt. Women College, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
