Samba, Oct 22: Samba Police under the supervision of SSP Samba, Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, inaugurated “T-20-Police Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament” at District Police Lines under Police Flag Day Programme, here today.
The Cricket tournament is being organized in the loving memory of J&K Police martyrs who had laid down their lives to uphold the integrity and sovereignty of Nation.
The Cricket Tournament will be played on knock out basis. In the said tournament, eight Cricket teams of boys are going to participate.
The inaugural match was played between Arazi Cricket Club Samba and Aryan Cricket Club Samba in which Arazi Cricket Club Samba team won the match, whereas in the second match of tournament was played between NCC Gurha Slathia Vs Samba Royals, the team of Samba Royals won the match.
SSP Samba in his message urged upon the participating teams to play their matches with high spirit of professionalism. Such sports activities being organized by J&K Police provides a better platform for the sports persons to explore their talents and channelizing their energy in right directions, added SSP Samba.
Besides Cricket tournament, Volleyball and Football tournaments will also be played during the ongoing Sports Festivals.
