Vivrant’s heroics go in vain as Services beat J&K

JAMMU, Oct 22: Gutsy batting all-rounder Vivrant Sharma’s magical all-round show went in vain as Services defeated Jammu and Kashmir by 3 wickets in Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy at IS Bindra Cricket Stadium, Mohali today.
Earlier, put into bat, J&K rode on a brilliant half-century by Vibrant Sharma to score a fighting total of 149 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Vibrant top scored with brisk 50 off 32 balls, studded with 3 fours and 3 sixes, while Shubham Khajuria and skipper Shubham Singh Pundir contributed 38 and 30 runs to the total respectively.
For Services, PR Rekhade took 3 wickets, while Diwesh Gurdev Pathania bagged 2 wickets.
In reply, Services chased the target in 19.2 overs by losing 7 wickets to win the match by 3 wickets. Rahul Singh Gehlot and Amit Pachhara contributed 47 runs each, while Ravi Chauhan scored 23 runs and AP Sharma chipped in with unbeaten 18.
For J&K, Aquib Nabi captured 3 wickets, while Vivrant Sharma bagged 2.
With this loss, J&K finished at the bottom of the table in their group, registering a solitary win against minnow Arunachal Pradesh.
