JAMMU, July 26: Players showed composure on Day-5 of the ongoing Inter School District Level competitions in the disciplines of Basketball, Carrom, Speedball, Hockey and Football, being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at various venues, here.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports, under the patronage of Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General, Youth Services & Sports and under the Chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director, while Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is the Organizing Secretary of the tournament.
In Hockey Under-14 Girls at KK Hakhu Stadium Jammu, GMS Gorkha Nagar School beat Presentation Convent by 4-0 and GMS Akalpur defeated SOS by 2-0, while in Hockey Under-17 Girls at KK Hakhu Stadium Jammu, GMS Akalpur trounced Presentation Convent by 4-0.
In Football Under-17 Boys at GGM Science College Jammu, KB Public School drubbed NBP RS Pura by 3-0, Heritage School beat Ashoka Public School by 4-2 via tie-breaker, DPS Jammu defeated Alexander Public School by 1-0, Jodhamal School outplayed RM Public School by 4-0, KC Public School trounced Maharishi Vidya Mandir by 3-0 and GD Goenka got the better of Model Academy by 2-0 via tie-breaker.
In Carrom Singles Under-19 Boys at Scout & Guides Hall Gandhi Nagar, Bahul of Model Academy Jammu emerged as the winner, while in Doubles, the pair of Anshjot and Kartik Sharma of Jammu Sanskriti School emerged as the winners.
In Carrom Singles Under-19 Girls at Scout & GuideS Hall Gandhi Nagar, Samiksha of MVM School Jammu was the winner and in Doubles, Anshu and Samiksha of MVM School Jammu emerged as the winners.
