UDHAMPUR, July 15: A two day long open Night Kabaddi Tournament organized by Vikas Kabaddi Club concluded today at Mini Stadium, Udhampur.
There were 16 clubs who participated in the tournament from different districts including Srinagar, Kathua, Jammu and Udhampur. Joginder Singh Jasrotia, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur was the chief guest on the occasion while Ashok Kumar (Retired) Director Sports, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Katra was the guest of honour. They appreciated the organizers of the tournament for providing a platform to the young Kabaddi players.
In the semi finals of the tournament, Midline Club Srinagar defeated Jammu United by 32-28 and Vikas Kabaddi Club defeated Udhampur Kabaddi Club by 40-28.
In the third place match, Jammu United defeated Udhampur Kabaddi Club by 28-24. In the final match, Midline Kabaddi Club Srinagar defeated Vikas Kabaddi Club by 30-26.
The cash prize of Rs 15,000 was given to the winning team; the runners-up got Rs 10,000 and Rs 5000 respectively. Cash prize of Rs 500 was given to Sandeep of Vikas Kabaddi Club for the best raider, best defender prize was given to Amir of Midline Club Srinagar while best All-rounder cash prize was given to Irfan of Midline Club Srinagar.
All the matches officiated by technical panel of experts Rakesh Kumar, Pushap Sharma, Rakesh Khajuria, Anshu Khanna, Ram Kumar, Sandeep Verma, Ravi Kumar, Khushwant Singh, Kanika Sharma, Gourav Dubey Anita Sharma, Rajni, Samta, Kriti. The proceedings were conducted by Amit Sharma and Moji Chandigarh Anchors of the tournament. Anshu Brat Khanna acted as the coordinator of the tournament.
Among others who were present were Vikram Singh Slathia, Municipal Councilor, Raghuvir Singh, Station House Officer, Udhampur, Rahul Jamwal Sub Inspector, Ashok Sharma, vice president, J&K Kabaddi Association, Ashok Padha, President Volleyball Association, Udhampur, Jitender Varmani President Beopar Mandal Udhampur and Amit Sharma.
