JAMMU, Jan 7: National Cricket Club (NCC) Reasi and Challenger Cricket Club, Jammu registered resounding victories over their rivals to advance in the ongoing Sadbhavana Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Reasi Cricket Club at Sports Stadium, Reasi.
In the first match, NCC defeated Kanota Knight Riders by 24 runs. Batting first, NCC scored a modest total of 126 runs in 18 overs. Dev was the top scorer with 29 runs, while Arif chipped in with 11 runs. Extras contributed 19 runs to the total. For Kanota Knight Riders, Tanvir, Tariq, Ashraf and Akhter claimed one wicket apiece.
In reply, Kanota Knight Riders collapsed at 102 runs in 17.1 overs. Amad (33) was the main scorer, while extras contributed 15 runs to the total. For NCC Reasi, Pankaj took 3 wickets, Dev bagged 2 and Sanjay Sharma claimed one wicket. Dev was adjudged man of the match for his all-round display. He was presented man of the match award by vice president BJYM, Anil Kumar Sharma.
In another match, Challenger Club drubbed Lions Club Jammu by 21 runs. Batting first, Challenger Club scored 145 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Bali (66) and Suresh Singh (32) were the main scorers, while Gagan chipped in with 13 runs. Extras contributed 17 runs to the total. Ravinder Singh and Abhishant bagged 3 and 2 wickets for Lions Club respectively.
In reply, Lions Club managed to score 124 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, thus lost the match by 21 runs. Vicky (46) and Abhishant (33) were the main contributors. For Challenger Club, Gagan was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 3 wickets, while Vishwajeet and Suresh Singh bagged 2 wickets each. Bali of Challenger Club was declared man of the match.
The match was officiated by Shubam Sahrma and Akhil Dev Singh as umpires, while Th Madan Lal was the scorer.
