NCC outplays JKP XI to enter semis

JAMMU, Mar 9: National Cricket Club (NCC) defeated JKP XI by 4 wickets and sealed berth in the semifinals of the ongoing Salute & Tribute to Siachen Martyrs T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Parade Cricket Association at Parade ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, JKP XI scored a modest total of 120 runs in 18.2 overs. Farooq top scored with 47 runs, while Manzoor Illahi and Mohd Ashraf contributed 22 and 20 runs respectively. Naresh Kumar chipped in with 10 runs. For NCC, Pranav Mahajan, Shiv Dutt, Deepak Singh Manhas and Vijay Dogra claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, National Cricket Club scored 123 runs in 18.3 overs by losing 6 wickets, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Rakesh Kumar was the top scorer with unbeaten 33 runs, while Pranav Gupta contributed valuable 25 runs to the total. Vijay Dogra and Inderjeet Singh also scored unbeaten 23 and 17 runs to the total respectively. Vijay Dogra was declared as man of the match for his all-round show.
The match was officiated by Madan Verma and Sadiq Hussain Malik as umpires, while Amarjeet Singh was the scorer.
