JAMMU, June 28: All-round performance by Rahul Mussa and a valuable contribution of 38 runs by Dalbir Singh helped RCC Srinagar and KCCC to register victories over their rivals and consolidate their positions in the ongoing Chevrolet Cricket Cup 2014 tournament sponsored by KC Motors Jammu and being played at KC Public School ground adjacent to KC Sports Club.
Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar defeated KC Motors by 6 wickets in a close contest.
Winning the toss and bating first, KC Motors bundled out for a paltry total of 87 runs in 15.4 overs. Ashwani and Mahesh scored 20 and 10 runs respectively. For Rainawari Cricket Club, Dilbagh Singh, Rahul Mussa, Rohit Bhat and Praful Dhar took 2 wickets each, while Kuldeep Kumar and Satish Kumar took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Rainawari CC reached the target of 88 runs in 10.4 overs by losing 4 wickets to win the match by 6 wickets. Rahul Mussa top scored with 32 runs, while Rohit Bhat and Amit Sharma contributed 20 and 16 runs each. Amit of KC Motors took 2 wickets by conceding 16 runs, while Ashwani and Sourav took 1 wicket each. Rahul Mussa of Rainawari CC was declared man of the match for his all-round display. Abhijyot Singh Bedi, Sandeep Manchanda and Sohail Yusuf were the officials of this match.
In another match, KCCC thrashed Lucky Star CC by 9 wickets in a one-sided affair.
Batting first, Lucky Star bundled out for paltry total of 77 runs in 18.2 overs. Vijay and Rocky scored 28 and 18 runs respectively. For KCCC, Sahil and Soumay Jain took 3 wickets each, while Bandeep Singh and Tribhuvan claimed 2 and 1 wicket respectively.
In reply, KCCC scored the required runs in 9 overs by losing one wicket. Dalbir Singh top scored with unbeaten 38 runs, while Pardeep Bali contributed 27 runs to the total. Wicketkeeper batsman, Raman Thaploo remained unbeaten on 8 runs. For Lucky Star CC, Sourav claimed 1 wicket. Dalbir Singh of KCCC was declared man of the match for his brilliant knock. Abhijyot Singh Bedi, Sandeep Manchanda and Sohail Yusuf were the officials of the match.
