Motorcycle Rally organised for electoral participation

REASI, Nov 20: A Motorcycle Rally was organized, wherein over 50 bikers and car borne youth spread the message of voter awareness and participation.
The Rally took off from Mini Secretariat Reasi and went up to Ransoo, base camp of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine, holding youth meetings on return and covering a distance of over 120 kms with day long cultural programmes and awareness sessions.
Slogans showcasing voter participation in elections and ensuring cent percent voter coverage were main attractions of the march.
Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary flagged off the motorcycle and car rally.
Electoral registration related material was also distributed for coverage of left out voters.
A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) “We Care” motivated the youth to came forward for effective participation in the Rally, which generated tremendous response from urban as well as in rural areas. Volunteers of NGO carried out placards, banner showing slogans regarding voter participation in Lok Sabha and Assembly Elections. Cartoons and caricatures were a attraction.
Volunteers and students expressed their views and also vowed to ensure greater participation in the elections. They took an oath to motivate all eligible voters.
These programmes are a part of Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) plan being implemented by the district administration as per guidelines of Election Commission of India.
Naib Tehsildar (Reasi) Rajesh Baru organised the rally and Chief Education Officer  Ashok Sanyal coordinated Girls’ March. Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Reasi  Tilak Raj Shastri, Assistant Commissioner  Development (ACD) Reasi   Joginder Singh, Tehsildars Ravinder Anand, Rajiv Mangotra and other officers attended the flagging off ceremony.
