BILLAWAR, June 23: Modern Dangal Committee Sarn, Gurah Kalyal, Billawar, Kathua organized a Wrestling event wherein 70 bouts were played, here today.
Sub Division Magistrate, Rajesh Basotra was the chief guest on the occasion, while Tehsildar Ramkote, Tehsildar Billawar and SHO Billawar were the guests of honour.
In the main bout, Rehmat Ali from Malerkotla and Gurjant from Amritsar shared the honours and were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 51,000, while in the second main bout, which was fought between Fiza from Billawar and Sagar from Delhi, a cash prize of Rs 31,000 was distributed.
In the third bout between Nisar of Doda and Talib of Malerkotla, a csh prize of Rs 21,000 was distributed.
Raj Singh (Dinanagar), Sunny (HP), Sukhdev (Amritsar), Vicky (Shimla and Sunny (Delhi)) were felicitated for outstanding performances.
The organizing committee included Randhir Singh Kotwal, Tara Chand, Babu Ram, Krishan Chand Padha, Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, Feroz, Shiv Dass, Mohd Rafiq, Ramesh Kumar, Rakesh Master, Mitul Gupta, Verinder Singh Kotwal, Vipin Sharma and Sanjeevan Lal Gupta.
