Media XI upstages Sterlite Cricket Club by 67 runs in friendly match

JAMMU, Sept 24: Overwhelmed performance by batsmen produced yet another win for Media XI in a friendly match against the Sterlite Cricket Club, played at Phallian Mandal cricket ground.
Led by Mir Imran, Media XI won the toss and elected to bat first. Openers, Faheem Tak 31 runs off 29 balls and Yash Khajuria 28 Runs off Just 15 balls gave Media XI a quick start to post 50 runs stand in just 4 overs.
Another typical show of batsman-in-sublime form Sunil Bali whose quick paced 67 runs off just 32 balls lifted Media XI to a gigantic total of 235 for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Rahul Khatri 38 runs off just 16 balls and Varinder 32 runs off 19 balls also played cameo and provided extra pace to Media XI inning.
For Sterlite Cricket Club, Rahul clinched 2 wickets and remained the pick of the bowler.
In reply, Sterlite Cricket Clun led by Harpal Singh succumbed to the pressure of chasing a staggering target and manage to post 168 for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Despite some good show with bat by its batsmen Rajat 40 runs off 34 balls, Gourav 29 runs off 35 balls, Bharat 36 off just 18 balls and Avinash 23 runs off 18 balls the Sterlite Cricket Club never came in the match as the asking rate remained above 10 throughout the Sterlite innings.
Rahul Khatri clinched 2 wickets for Media XI as Faheem Tak and Abhinav shared a wicket apiece.
Rahul Khatri who scored 38 runs and took 2 wickets was adjudged as Man of the match.
