JAMMU, Mar 30: Media Cricket Club and Horizon Cricket Club Samba registered victories over their rivals in the ongoing Winter Shield T20 Cup, being organized by SCA, J&K State Sports Council under the supervision of its Secretary Dr Naseem Choudhary.
In the first match, Media Cricket Club defeated Secretariat Cricket Club in an easy contest by 6 wickets.
Batting first, Secretariat Cricket Club scored 91 runs in the allotted 15 overs. Mushtaq top scored with 31 runs, while Tariq and Asif contributed 22 and 13 runs to the total respectively. From Media CC, Rhytham took 4 wickets, Dheeraj bagged 2, while Vikas and Nawaz claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Media Cricket Club chased the target in 13.1 overs by losing 4 wickets thus won the match by 6 wickets. Adil top scored with unbeaten 46 runs, while Nawaz and Vikas contributed 25 and 12 runs respectively.
From Secretariat CC, Asif, Mushtaq and Imtiaz took 1 wicket each. Aadil was declared as the man of the match.
In another match, Horizon Club defeated Vridhi Royals by 7 wickets.
Batting first, Vridhi Royals scored 60 runs in 13.5 overs. Anil and Abhishek chipped in with 13 and 12 runs respectively. From Horizon Club, Preeti took 4 wickets, while Brijesh bagged 3, Gourav 2 and Arun claimed one.
Horizon XI in reply chased the target in 6.2 overs for the loss of 3 wickets thus won the match by 7 wickets. Gourav top scored with 23 runs and Preeti contributed 14 runs. From Vritdhi Royals, Aditpal, Dhruv and Shivam claimed 1 wicket each. Preeti was declared as the man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Vijay, Dayal and Ashok Kumar.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Stadium XI Kathua will take on Sher-e-KashmirCricket Club at 8.30 am, Bali Cricket Club will face Diamond Cricket Club at 10.30 am and JCC will meet Champions Cricket Club at 2.30 pm.
