JAMMU, Jan 2: Outplaying their rivals in the semifinals clashes, MBS Makhanpur and Zorawar Hockey Club Satwari have qualified for the finals of the Under-19 Hockey Tournament, being organized by Hockey J&K at KK Hakhu Astroturf Stadium, here.
In the first semifinal, MBS Makhanpur defeated Guru Nanak Nagar Hockey Club Jammu by eight goals to seven (8-7) via tie-breaker, while in the second semifinal, Zorawar Hockey Club Satwari blanked Sittu Club Simbal by four goals to nil (4-0). The goal scorers were Harsh Vaid, Shriya Vaid, Chatanya Bhat and Danish Vaid.
The match was officiated by Joginder Singh, J S Reen, J S Bali, Iqbal Singh, Jaspreet Singh, and GS Bakshi.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Rajinder Singh, treasurer Hockey India, Romal Singh, general secretary Hockey J&K, Gurmeet Singh, H S Reen, Niranjan Singh, Vijay Vaid, B K Bhat, Balkrishan and Manmohanpal Singh.
