Maqsood Sports lifts Wathoora Premier League title

SRINAGAR, Nov 18: Maqsood Sports Wathoora lifted Wathoora Premier League Edition -VI trophy by trouncing Cricket Starts Kralpora at Shah Qalandar Sports Stadium Wathoora, here today.
This was a two week-long District level tournament wherein 30 teams participated.
Maqsood Sports won the toss and chose to bat first. They made 184 runs by losing 6 wickets in the process. Cricket Stars Kralpora could not chase the huge target in the stipulated overs and bundled out at 130 runs.
Shabir Madbali of Maqsood Sports scored 48 runs, while Imtiaz and Jeelani made 32 runs each. Javid was declared as man of the match, whereas Maqsood Dar of Maqsood Sports Wathoora was adjudged as player of the tournament who made 110 runs and clinched 12 wickets.
Chairman RTI Movement, Dr Raja Muzaffar was chief guest on the occasion. He congratulated organisers of the tournament, Lateef Dra, Riyaz Peer and Molvi Younis for involving youth of the area in sports activities.
DDC Member Chadoora Insha Showkat was the guest of honour. She gave away sports uniforms to the winning team. Among others who participated in the award ceremony included Dr Rouf Mohiudeen, Director Koshish NGO, social activists Azad Ali and Shahbaz Qadri.
