UDHAMPUR, Feb 26: Involving youth in sports and games is the best way to help them not to fall prey to drugs and other allied social evils and not to derail from the mainstream.
This was stated by former MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia during a semifinal match of Cricket tournament under Khelo India, being organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports at Khambiyan Ground, here.
Speaking on the occasion, Mankotia advised the youngsters to stay away from drugs and take part in sports and other allied activities to be fit and healthy.
Stressing on fitness of youngsters, Mankotia said that sports is the best way to channelize the energy of youth in positive direction.
While appreciating Khelo India Movement of Central Government, Mankotia said that the scheme has reached at Panchayat level to uplift the local talent.
He also lavished praise on the organisers for holding the event in a befitting manner.
Earlier, in the semifinal match played today, Latti Cricket Club defeated Chanunta Cricket Club in an easy contest to seal berth in the finals.
