SRINAGAR, Sept 7: The elections of Hockey J&K for the term 2025-2029 were held today in Srinagar, witnessing enthusiastic participation from representatives of all districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The elections were conducted strictly in accordance with the National Sports Code, as per handout issued.
The electoral process was smoothly overseen by Mohammad Ashraf Malik (Retd. Principal District & Sessions Judge), who served as the Returning Officer. Rajesh Dutta, representative of the J&K Olympic Association, was present as the official observer.
Manik Batra was unanimously elected as the new President of Hockey J&K. Adv. Manmohit Singh was elected as the General Secretary, while Gurpreet Singh secured the post of Treasurer. The Vice Presidents elected were Nisar Ahmad Nayak and Adv. Barkat Kour Rattan. Makhan Singh and Jasleen Kour were elected as Joint Secretaries. Surinder Pal Singh and Parvinder Kour were chosen as Resident Secretaries. Supinder Deep Singh Bakshi, Sayed Anis Ahmed, and Rajesh Sharma were elected as Executive Members.
The meeting was attended by Asima Ali, Vice President of Hockey India and a member of Hockey J&K, who congratulated the newly elected team and expressed hope for the growth of hockey in the Union Territory.
After being elected, President Manik Batra expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their trust and support. He pledged to introduce new initiatives for the promotion and development of hockey across Jammu and Kashmir.
