JAMMU, Jan 3: Sahil Mahotra with his excellent batting performance guided Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy (MGCA) to register win over Smart Cricket Club (SCC) by a margin of 60 runs in the inaugural tie of the 3rd Budding Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu Tawi Cricket Club at GGM Science College Hostel ground here today.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, MGCA scored 174 runs for the loss of just 2 wickets. Sahil Mahotra played well and scored 79 runs including 8 balls towards the fence and one six, while as Sahil Lotra also scored 56 runs including 8 boundaries.
From SCC side, Anmol was the pick of the bowlers, who bagged 2 wickets by conceding 24 runs in his 3 overs.
In reply, SCC bundled out for 114 runs with the loss of 9 wickets. Abdul Samad and Kanaiya scored 30 and 26 runs respectively, while as Rhytham and Sanchit scored 10 runs each.
From MGCA side, Samark, Ankush and Santh Arim claimed 2 wickets each.
The man of the match award was presented to Sahil Mahotra for scoring 79 runs.
The match was officiated by Indraj Bagal and Shashi Pal as umpires, while as Sandeep Manchada maintained the scoreboard.
Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Rakesh Kumar, Vice Chairman, JKCA, Jammu Wing.
