Lt Gen Kotwal elected ITS prez

JAMMU, Aug 16: Lt Gen (Dr) Narendra Kotwal, Director of Endocrinology at Paras Health, has been elected president of the Indian Thyroid Society (ITS) during its annual conference. He also serves as president of the Endocrine Society of India—an unprecedented dual leadership role in the country’s endocrine fraternity.
A decorated veteran and renowned endocrinologist, Dr Kotwal superannuated as Director and Commandant of AFMC Pune after a distinguished 37-year career in the Army Medical Corps. He has been honoured with AVSM, SM, and VSM by the President of India and has served as physician to four Presidents of India.
Dr Kotwal is a pioneer in clinical endocrinology, public health, and the emerging field of “spiritual endocrinology.” He is leading a national position paper on endocrine-disrupting chemicals and is chief editor of the forthcoming Textbook of Geriatric Endocrinology, to be launched in September.
