Lone Star Kashmir FC, DFA Srinagar enter quarterfinal round

JAMMU, Jan 3: Lone Star Kashmir Football Club, Srinagar and DFA Srinagar smashed their rivals and entered into the quarterfinal round of the ongoing XXIII State Football Championship at GGM Science College football ground here today.
In the first match, Lone Star Kashmir FC, Srinagar defeated Param Sports Club, Jammu by 4 goals to zero. The goals were netted by Wasiq and Aqib.
In the second match, DFA Srinagar defeated DFA Anantnag by 6 goals to 5. Players of both the team strived hard to net the goal, but failed and the first half ended with 0-0 score, while as in the 26th minute of second half, DFA Srinagar earned a penalty kick which they scored.
DFA Anantnag equalized the game in the 5 minute of the game. The goal was netted by Ahnan and the match ended with 1 goal each.
In tie breaker, both the teams scored 4 goals each and it was in sudden death, when Irfan of DFA Srinagar scored the goal and Arif of DFA Anantnag failed, which paved way for DFA Srinagar to enter next stage of the tournament.
In tomorrow’s fixture, quarter final matches will be played between J&K Bank XI and DFA Baramulla, AG’s XI and DFA Srinagar, J&K Police XI and Lone Star Kashmir FC.
