Law Deptt, Law School outplay opponents

JAMMU, Apr 1: Law Department and Law School teams defeated their rivals convincingly to move into the next round of the ongoing Inter-Department Cricket Tournament, being organized by the  Directorate of Sports and Physical Education at University of Jammu, here.
In the first match, Law School defeated the Department of Education by 8 wickets. Batting first, Education Department scored a modest total of 103 runs in the stipulated 15 overs. Annop Singh top scored with 35 runs, whilre Gurvinder contributed 21 runs to the total. Mahavir and Ravi chipped in with 13 runs each. Shahrukh took 3 wickets for Law School, while Vijinder and Anil claimed one wicket each.
In reply,  Law School chased the target in just 8.2 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Gourav scored quick-fire 72 runs off 32 balls, studded with 11 fours and 3 sixes, while Sahil contributed 10 runs to the total. Gurvinder and Rahul took one wicket each for Education Department.
In another match, Law Department defeated the Department of Lifelong Learning by 7 wickets. Batting first, Department of Lifelong Learning scored 103 rus in 15 overs. Rishav top scored with 53 runs, while Amit contributed 11 runs to the total. Rohan Sharma, Arun Singh and Vikram claimed one wicket apiece for Law Department.
Law Department, in reply, chased the target in 11.3 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus wo the match by 7 wickets. Soumay Jain scored magnificent 51 runs off 32 balls, while Abhinandan and Arun chipped in with 17 and 12 runs respectively. Rishav took 2 wickets for Department of Lifelong Learning, while Deepak claimed one.
The matches were officiated by Jagtar Singh, Rahul Sharma, Vinay Manhas, Satpal and Rajkumar Bakshi.
