Jasvinder, Pundir score fifties, Rahil scalps 3 wkts as JCC drubs KCSC

JAMMU, Apr 1: Magnificent half-centuries by Jaswinder Singh and Shubham Pundir helped Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) to thrash KC Sports Club (KC SC) by 8 wickets to qualify for the quarterfinals of the ongoing 1st SP Smart T20 Cup Cricket Tournament, being organized by chief organizer Vikas Raina and his team at MA Stadium, here.
Earlier, KC SC won the toss and elected to bat first and scored a modest total of 126 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Rohan Koul was the top scorer with 39 runs off 30 balls, studded with 4 delectable boundaries and one big six, while Ateev Saini and Amrit Pal Singh contributed 22 and 16 runs to the total respectively. Rahil Singh was the pick of the bowlers for JCC, who scalped 3 important wickets by conceding 16 runs in his 4 overs, while Paras Sharma took 2 wickets by giving away 19 runs in his 4 overs and Deepak Dogra (Baba) also claimed 2 wickets by spending 26 runs in his 4 overs.
In reply, JCC rode on a splendid batting display by Shubham Singh Pundir and Jaswinder Singh and chased the target in 14 overs by losing 2 wickets , thus won the match by 8 wickets. While Jaswinder contributed unbeaten 59 runs to the total, Shubham scored valuable 51 runs. Noushad and Ishan claimed one wicket each. For his brilliant bowling display, Rahil Singh was adjudged as man of the match.
The match was officiated by Madan and Vikas as umpires, while Sahil Bhal was the scorer.
In tomorrow’s fixture, JCC will take on Boley Nath Cricket Club in the morning session, while NMCC Nagrota will take on Dev Cricket Club in the afternoon.
