Khelo India Weightlifting Women’s League 2025 concludes

JAMMU, July 29: The Asmita Khelo India Weightlifting Women’s League 2025 concluded at the Indoor Complex, Bhagwati Nagar, with around 30 talented athletes showcasing their strength and skill across various categories.
The event was inaugurated by MLA Bahu, Vikram Randhawa, who lauded efforts to promote weightlifting among youth. Former Deputy CM Dr. Nirmal Singh graced the valedictory ceremony, commending the role of sports in youth empowerment.
Harbhajan Singh, President of the J&K Weightlifting Association, praised Khelo India’s role in boosting the sport. The event’s success was ensured by technical officials, including Ravi Singh, Surjeet Singh, Bharti Devi and others. Winners included Ichcha Sodhi (44kg Youth), Samiksha Dubey (48kg Youth), Riya Mehra (53kg Junior), Priya Kumari (58kg Senior), and Meenu Kalhotra (+86kg Senior) among many others.
Yudhvir Singh, General Secretary, presented a vote of thanks. The event highlighted the region’s emerging talent and reaffirmed commitment to women’s participation in weightlifting.
