JAMMU, May 13: The students of class IX of KC Public School staged two English plays in front of their parents.
Class IX-D performed ‘The Man Who Wanted to Fly’ written by Ujwala Samarth and class IX-E presented ‘An Earth Day Story’ written by Mary Beth Greene.
Dr Madhulika Bhagat, Prof of Biotechnology at the University of Jammu graced the occasion as special guest.
Both the plays were performed skilfully by a large cast of students. ‘The Man Who Wanted to Fly’ is an allegorical play depicting the tale of a man who decides to rid himself of the burden of a large range of feelings and emotions such as love, memory, ambition, curiosity, hate, greed, pride, humour, anger, sorrow, happiness etc and be able to fly like a bird in the sky. He fails in his mission because he is reduced to a small and insignificant piece of stone without those feelings and emotions he forcibly throws out of himself. ‘An Earth Day Story’ portrays the story of transformation of a school Principal from a bitter and cynical individual into an ardent supporter of conservation of the planet earth and its fragile environment.
The Special Guest distributed the participation certificates.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by School Principal.
