JAMMU, Sept 8: Kashif, Aditya Sharma, Aseem Ghai and Sohail Khalid thrashed rivals and advanced to the semis of the ongoing Junior Billiards Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA), at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
In the first quarterfinal match, Kashif registered win over Mandeep Singh by straight 2-0 frames with the score of 101-69 and 100-94.
In the second quarterfinal, Aditya Sharma defeated Gurjeev Singh by 2-1 frames. In the first frame, Aditya registered win by 102-98 and the match was equalized by Gurjeev by winning the second frame by 101-94. In the decider frame, Aditya proved his mettle and registered win over Gurjeev by 100-99.
Aseem Ghai smashed Abhishek Pathania in the third quarterfinal match by 2-1. Aseem won the first frame by 101-95 and Abhishek registered win in the second frame by 103 and 79 and equalized the game. In the decider frame, Abhishek lost to Aseem by 101-71.
In the fourth quarterfinal match, Sohail Khalid registered win over Vidit Gawri by straight 2-0 frames with the score of 100-69 and 100-84.
The semis of the Junior Billiards Championship will be played at same venue tomorrow.
