JAMMU, Oct 30: The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu conducted the Inter-Collegiate Football, Table Tennis and Chess Tournaments 2025–26, witnessing enthusiastic participation, competitive spirit and exemplary sportsmanship from affiliated colleges.
In Women’s Football, GDC Kathua claimed the championship by defeating GCW Udhampur by 2–0, displaying precise passing, strong defense and coordinated attacks. In Men’s Football, PG Deptt. JU beat GDC Rajouri by 4–0, GDC Marh defeated KC Law College by 1–0, GDC Udhampur overcame Dogra Degree College by 3–0, GMC Kathua won against ASCOMS by 3–0 and GDC Poonch defeated GDC Hiranagar by 2–1 in the quarterfinals.
In Table Tennis, GDC Udhampur dominated the Men’s final with a 3–0 win over MIET Jammu, while PG Deptt. JU edged past GMC Doda by 3–2 in a thrilling Women’s final.
The Inter-Collegiate Chess Tournament saw GMC Kathua, PG Deptt. JU, UET Kathua, GCET Jammu and MIET Jammu advance in the Men’s section, while GCW Udhampur defeated GDC Jourian in the Women’s section.
