JU drubs Punjab University Chandigarh by 25 runs

LUDHIANA, Nov 12: University of Jammu in its third league match defeated Punjab University Chandigarh by 25 runs in the ongoing 14th All India Vice-Chancellor’s T20 Cricket Cup at Ludhiana in Punjab, today.
Batting first, University of Jammu scored 152 runs for five wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Rajesh top scored with blistering 32 runs in just 21 balls, while Vishal Sudan scored 29 runs and Niranjan contributed 23 runs to the total. Ameet and Daud also chipped in with 17 and 16 runs respectively. For Punjab University Chandigarh, Ved Prakash took 2 wickets’whereas Amrinder and Suresh shared one wicket each. Punjab University Chandigarh was bundled out for126 runs in 19.2 overs. Raj Kumar Bakshi took 3 wickets, while Pawan and Balwant shared 2 wickets each. Rajesh and Daud took one wicket each.
Rajesh Salhotra was adjudged as man of the match for his all-round performance.
Jammu University Team Manager, Sham Lal Sharma, Assistant Manager, Vikas Langer and Pawan Singh, president – JUNTEU also congratulated the team for its convincing win.
University of Jammu will meet HP University Shimla in its next league match on November, 2016.
