JAMMU, Oct 13: Jammu University (JU) Employees Cricket team beat JK Media XI by 7 wickets in a friendly match at University ground, here.
JK Media was restricted to a partly total of 96 runs as Jammu University bowlers bowled with nagging line and teasing length.
From Media XI, Lekh Raj was the top scorer with 22 runs, while Arun and Viket Suri contributed 18 and 15 runs to the total respectively.
From JU, skipper Rajesh Salhotra, Balwant Singh, Sumit Sharma and Avtar Sharma took 2 wickets each, while Pawan Singh claimed one wicket.
In reply, JU team won the match in 15.2 overs, losing 3 wickets in the process. Niranjan (35) and Vishal (28) were the main contributors, while Rajesh and Sumit contributed 15 and 12 runs to the total respectively.
Pawan Singh Bhau, President, JUNTEU congratulated the team.
This is JU’s 6th victory against Media XI in the last seven matches played against them.
