JTGC holds ‘Kids putting camp’

JAMMU, Jan 16: Jammu Tawi Golf Course (JTGC), Sidhra today organized “Kids Putting Camp” to inculcate competitive spirit among the children. Principal Secretary, Power Development Department, Rohit Kansal who was chief guest on the occasion said that putting contest is an innovative way to entice budding players towards golf and nurture talent in Jammu and Kashmir. Secretary, Jammu Tawi Golf Course Manav Gupta said that such events will be organized on regular basis to encourage young golfers. Jammu Tawi Golf Course is also working to establish a full fledged Golf Academy.
Total 16 children between the age groups of 5-13 years participated in the event. The event was divided into two categories which include under 9 and 13 years.
In under 13 years category, Master Reyan Satya Gupta got 1st rank, Shambhavi Gupta got 2nd rank and Master Abdullah Daud clinched 3rd rank.
In under 9 years category, Master Armaan Kansal won 1st rank, Master Tehleel Ahmed clinched 2nd rank and Master Adhyayan Langer bagged 3rd rank.
Pertinently, these budding golfers were trained by National Golf Academy of India (NGAI) certified professional coach Rohit Gupta. Among others, parents and sports lovers were also present on the occasion.
