JRG bags 6 medals in ‘Super Sikh Run’

* Padha clicks 4th rank in 55-plus category

JAMMU, Dec 10: Son of the soil and veteran runner, Rajesh Padha, brought laurels for the State by clicking 4th rank in 55-plus category of ‘Super Sikh Run’ at New Delhi.
‘Super Sikh Run’, a half-marathon centered around the philosophy “One Race Human Race” was held yesterday. It was consisted of 5 km Chardi Kala run, 10 km one race and the most popular half marathon race for those who like to go the long way. The run started from Gurudwara Rakabganj Sahib and finished back at the same point.
Rajesh Padha made the State proud by winning 4th rank in this prestigious marathon in 55-plus category. He timed the run in 1.44 hours. Recently, Padha had clinched 1st rank in JHM and another in ‘The Great Run of Punjab’ by becoming the only Ultra-marathoner of the State by running 80 km with 1st rank. His medal tally has reached 52 medals with 6 medals as podium finishes.
Jammu Runners Group (JRG) bagged 6 medals in this prestigious marathon. Taranjit Singh clocked his best time 2.13 hours while Harinderpal Singh Ricky clocked his best time 1.59 hours. Sandeep Singh clocked his best time by 1.47 hours. He took to running by replacing his cricket. One more finisher, Jaswant Singh, age 77 years, ran 10 km and got finisher medal. The only woman from Jammu was Manminder Kour, who despite getting knee injury finished 10 km and got finished medal clocking 1.14 hours.
