KATRA, Apr 28: Four times Bharat Kesari and National Games 2011 gold Medalist Johnny Choudhery of HP from Subash Akhara Patiala and Benia of J&K Police shared title of the 26th Annual Mahadev Kesari Vishal Dangal, a mega Wrestling event organized by Mahadev Dangal Committee Reasi in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, here.
The event was held under the overall supervision of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sanjay Dogra along with other members of the Committee.
The bout remained undecided which was fought for 31 minutes, both the wrestlers jointly were given Rs 21,000 by the chief guest Chander Mohan, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sanjay Dogra.
2nd main bout was fought between Major of Dera Baba Nanak of Punjab and Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhalwal Jammu. The bout remained undecided which was fought for 21 minutes, both the wrestlers jointly were given Rs 6,000 by the Rajesh Dogra, Advocate Padam Dev Singh and Tehsildar Munshi Ram.
Second title of District Reasi was fought between Liakat Ali of Panthal and Balwan Singh of Mahore, which was won by Liakat Ali, who was awarded a cash prize of Rs 7,000 along with silver gurj (Gadda) and Patta of “Salal Kesari Title 2013” by GM Salal Chander Mohan, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sanjay Dogra and runners-up wrestler Balwan Singh got Rs 4,000. NHPC Salal contributed Rs 32,000 prize money of both the titles as financial assistance through its GM Chander Mohan and Dr RP Singh.
