JAMMU, Jan 16: JKP XI and Sarveshwar Club crushed their rivals in their respective matches and qualified for the semifinal round of the ongoing 3rd Christmas T-20 Cricket Cup for college students and J&K cricketers at Parade cricket ground, here today.
In the first match, JKP XI defeated PG Law and Sciences by 3 wickets and sailed into semis of the tournament.
Batting first, PG Law and Sciences scored 132 runs in stipulated 20 overs for all out. Gourav scored 32, Vishwajeet made 26 and Vinay contributed with 26 runs.
For JKP side, skipper Rajesh Gill took 2 wickets, whereas Shashi, Shamsher, Vishal and Ankush shared 1 wicket each.
JKP XI in reply achieved the target in 18 overs by losing 7 wickets and won the match by 3 wickets. Shashi scored 45 runs, Suman Koul made 26 runs and Farooq contributed with 24 runs.
For PG Law and Sciences side, Gourav took 3 wickets, whereas Rahul and Vishwajeet shared 1 wicket each.
Shashi of JKP XI was declared as man of the match.
In the second match, Sarveshwar Club scripted win against Youth Club Bhaderwah by 6 runs in a keenly contested game.
Electing to bat first, after winning the toss, Sarveshwar Club made 127 runs in 18 overs for 8 wickets. Hanon scored 43 runs and Kavi made 13 runs.
For Youth Club Bhaderwah side, Aqib scalped 3 wickets, whereas Khalid, Mohsin and Mudasir took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Youth Club Bhaderwah was bundled out at 121 runs for all out in 17.3 overs. Abir made 38 runs and Arshad contributed with 25 runs.
For Sarveshwar Club side, Pankaj scalped 3 wickets, whereas Hanon and Pardeep took 2 wickets each.
Hanon of Sarveshwar Club was adjudged as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Suhail Yusuf, Nitu Khokher, Sanju, Vinod and Farooq.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Khalsa Cricket Club will take on Tanishta Cricket Club and RCC Srinagar will clash with Samar Cricket Club.
