JAMMU, Feb 22: J&K Wrestling Association has selected team for participation in 35th boys and 18th girls Junior National Wrestling Championship-2016 to be held at Nandni Nagar, Nawab Ganj, Goonda in Uttar Pradesh from February 25 to February 27, 2016.
The final team was selected by the J&K Wrestling Association after selection trials/screening test at Bajrang Akhara Shalimar, Jammu.
The wrestlers who were selected for the Championship included Sunil Choudhary (50 kg), Gourav (50 kg), Gagandeep (55 kg), Ashwani (55 kg), Raman Singh (60 kg), Shahil Kumar (60 kg) Sohil Sharma (66 kg), Hussain Din (66 kg), Munir (74 kg), Lokesh (74 kg), Amandeep Singh (84 kg), Ashiq Ahmed (96 kg), Dhanuk (120 kg), Surinder Singh (120 kg) and Javid (96 kg).
Ravinder is the coach of team, while Sandeep Kumar is the Manager, who along with the players left Jammu today on for participation in the National Wrestling Championship 2016.
Sat Sharma, president BJP J&K and MLA was the chief guest on the occasion, who while speaking appreciated the efforts of the J&K Wrestling Association for preparing professional wrestlers.
President Bajrangi Akhara, Pradeep Sharma, Ajay Vaid, general secretary J&K Wrestling Association, Swaran Lal, Dheeraj Sharma, Raju Sharma, Jai Bharat, Mohd Sadiq, Ravinder Sharma and Kamal Pahalwan were present on the occasion.
