JAMMU, July 14: The Jammu and Kashmir UT Youth Powerlifting Association conducted a selection trial at Master Fitness Club, Exhibition Hall, Press Club Jammu, for the upcoming National Powerlifting Championship to be held in Gujarat from August 1 to 3, 2025.
The event saw more than 40 athletes competing in full powerlifting, bench press and deadlift categories. With exceptional displays of strength and determination, 28 boys and 3 girls were selected to represent Jammu and Kashmir at the national level.
Selected Boys were Deep Kumar, Kundan, Suryadev, Nitin Kesar, Krish Saini, Mayank Pandit, Mohit Rana, Dheeraj, Abrar Malik, Atul Sharma, Vijay Kumar, Akrish Singh, Keshav, Ankush, Vasu Kumar, Nitin Sharma, Gurbaksh, Azad Karan, Harjinder Singh, Abhimanyu Saini, Ankit Mahajan, Parveen Kumar, Varun Singh, Sumit Thakyal, Sameer, Gulshan Kumar, Abhit Chib and Vipul Sharma. Selected Girls were Prerna, Soniya and Palak.
The event was graced by officials including Narendra Singh, Iqbal Singh, Sahil Anand, Shailendra Chadak, and Sunil Kumar, who motivated the participants. The trials were efficiently coordinated by Vipul Sharma, Abhimanyu, Insaaf Thapa and Ankit Mahajan.
