J&K, Kerala, Manipur Meghalaya reach semis

Srinagar, Oct 9: J&K, Kerala, Manipur, and Meghalaya today advanced to the U/19 Boys Football semifinals at the 69th National School Games 2025 following a thrilling day of Quarterfinal action.
Host team J&K secured a hard-fought victory to book their place in the final four.
The day began with Pre-Quarterfinal clashes.
At the TRC Ground, J&K defeated Maharashtra by 2-0, with local talent Hanan Gul standing out.
Kerala routed Chandigarh by 6-0 at the Kashmir University Ground, while Meghalaya overpowered IBSSO by 4-0.
Other pre-quarterfinal wins were recorded by Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, and Manipur, which thrashed Chhattisgarh by 9-0.
Quarterfinal matches delivered a mix of dominance and drama. Kerala defeated Haryana by 4-0, with goals from Ajsal, Raseed, Shifil, and Sheril Thomas.
Manipur edged past Delhi by 5-4 in a penalty shootout after a tense contest. Meghalaya narrowly beat West Bengal by 2-1, with goals from Pynkmenglang Marbaniang and Kyrmenshhem Mukhim.
J&K won against Madhya Pradesh by 2-0 to secure the last semifinal spot.
The matches highlighted the talent, competitive spirit, and sportsmanship of young footballers from across the country.
Organised by the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports, J&K, under the School Games Federation of India, the tournament now moves into its critical semifinal stage, with the four teams vying for a place in the championship final.
