JAMMU, July 24: The Jammu & Kashmir Junior Men’s Hockey Team today departed for Chennai to participate in the 15th Hockey India Junior Men’s National Championship, to be held from July 28 to August 8, 2025.
The team was finalized following a transparent screening conducted on July 23 at KK Hakku Hockey Stadium, Jammu, under the supervision of the J&K Sports Council (JKSC). The process was overseen by the Screening Committee of JKSC.
Anissa Nabi, Chief Sports Officer, JKSC, attended as chief guest and wished the team success. Also present were Satpal Singh, Divisional Sports Officer (J), Sanjeev Sharma, Executive Engineer, Ghotam Sharma, Assistant Executive Engineer, Ajay Gupta, In-charge Manager of KK Hakku Stadium and Tejinder Singh, Secretary, Hockey J&K.
The selected players include: Mantej Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Shivam Mehra, Harmanpreet Singh, Divjot Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Rahul Ahirwar, Karan, Adiraj Singh, Prabvir Singh, Varunpreet Singh, Jasjot Singh, Veerpratap Singh, Gurkirat Singh, Sabi-ulla, Mohd Altamash, Daksh Sharma and Rahiees Ahmed.
Saval Ahmed will lead the squad as Coach, with Kirandeep as Manager. JKSC and Hockey J&K expressed confidence in the team’s potential to represent the Union Territory with pride.
