J&K defeats HP by 9 wkts

JAMMU, Dec 14: Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) secured a dominant 9-wicket victory over Himachal Pradesh in the Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy at Deshbandhu Park Ground, Kolkata, thanks to a stellar performance from their bowlers and solid batting contributions.
Himachal Pradesh was dismissed for just 101 runs in 24.5 overs. Ananaya Sharma was the standout bowler, claiming 5 wickets for 21 runs in 4.5 overs. Bismah Hassan also played a crucial role, taking 3 wickets for 20 runs in 5 overs, as the J&K bowlers maintained tight discipline throughout. Sonal Thakur (20), Nikita Chauhan (19), and skipper Sushma Verma (14) were the top scorers for Himachal.
In reply, J&K chased the modest total in 28.4 overs, losing just one wicket. Chitra Singh Jamwal top-scored with 41 runs off 65 balls, including 9 boundaries, while Bawandeep Kaur contributed 39 runs off 77 balls. Ananaya Sharma, who also contributed 20 runs, was named Player of the Match for her remarkable 5-wicket haul. With 5 wins out of 6 matches, J&K is in the hunt for a knockout stage spot and will face Andhra Pradesh in the final league match.
