JAMMU, Apr 27: Jammu and Kashmir delivered a commanding performance to defeat CBSE by 87 runs in the 69th National School Games U-17 Boys Cricket Tournament held in Mehboob Nagar, hosted by the Government of Telangana under the School Games Federation of India (SGFI).
After winning the toss and opting to bat, J&K posted an imposing 197/4 in 15 overs. Musaib starred with a blistering 58, hitting seven fours and four sixes, while Arsh Bin Ahad anchored the innings with an unbeaten 44. Prabdeep Singh remained not out on 23, Lubaib Malik scored 20, Ruhaan Raj added 8, and Karanveer Sharma contributed 4 runs.
CBSE bowlers Shrihan and Shaurya picked up one wicket each but struggled to contain the aggressive batting display. In reply, CBSE were bowled out for 109 runs. Harshit top-scored with 33, while Aviral made 17 and Kshitiz added 15.
J&K bowlers dominated, with Prabdeep Singh, Suhaib and Fayiz Fayaz claiming two wickets each, while Rafid and Mujtaba Muzamil took one wicket apiece.
The J&K team, representing the Department of Youth Services and Sports, is guided by Manager Jagtar Singh and Coach Satpal Singh Manhas.
