JAMMU, July 18: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) has finalised the Jammu and Kashmir contingent for the upcoming Inter-State Youth Exchange Programme (YEP), scheduled to be held in Kurukshetra, Haryana, from July 22.
The announcement was made during the Inter-Divisional Youth Exchange Programme held at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, Jammu. Director General YSS, Anuradha Gupta, presided over the event and highlighted the importance of cultural exchanges in fostering unity, understanding and national integration.
“Participants are not just representatives but ambassadors of J&K’s rich heritage. Such programmes offer exposure and help young minds adopt best practices from across India,” she said. She also assured that YSS will continue expanding such initiatives for broader youth engagement.
Joint Directors Dr. Vinakshi Koul (Jammu) and Mohd Rashid Kohli (Kashmir) were guests of honour. The programme featured folk songs and dances by troupes from Kathua, Budgam and Doda, and declamation contests where Avishi Gupta, Simran, and Muntaho stood out.
The proceedings were conducted by noted anchor and physical educationist Mohammad Yousuf Dar. Officials including Deputy Directors Jitender Mishra (Central), Megha Bogia (Planning) and others were also present.
