Jammu, June 13: Jammu & Kashmir men’s team put up a strong fight before going down 15-21 to basketball giants Tamil Nadu in the 3×3 National Basketball Championship in Kochi, Kerala.
J&K matched TN basket-for-basket in the first half, but the experienced side pulled ahead in the closing stages.
Earlier, J&K registered impressive wins over Odisha (21-14) and Himachal Pradesh (21-16), but suffered a heavy 9-21 loss to Haryana in a lacklustre outing.
In the women’s category, J&K beat Bihar 14-8, showing promise, but couldn’t maintain the momentum, losing to Karnataka (8-21) and Haryana (9-21).
Despite the defeats, the J&K teams showed glimpses of potential and resilience against top national sides.
