JAMMU, Dec 30: Jammu Warriors defeated Royal Women Cricket Club (RWCC) by 4 wickets to lift the title trophy of the Royal Women Cricket Tournament, which concluded here today.
Earlier, batting first, RWCC scored 87 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Bushra top scored with 23 off 31 balls, while Rudrakshi contributed 14 off 26 balls. From Jammu Warriors, Sarla took 3 wickets, while Shivangi, Iqra and Heena claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Jammu Warriors chased the target by losing 6 wickets thus won the match by 4 wickets. Anju scored 13 off 10 balls, while Sonika contributed 12 off 21 balls. Nadia took 2 wickets, while Bushra, Rubia and Pushpa claimed one wicket each.
Advocate Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor, Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, while Ranjeet Kalra, Ace Administrator and Member BCCI was the guest of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Shamboo Nath Sharma, Dr. Roopali Slathia, Dysp Rajani Sharma, Veena Sharma, Anita Gupta, Prof Mustaq Ahmed, Satika Sharma and Surekha Singh. Sunil Kumar, Atul Watloo and Ishan Thakur officiated the match.
