JAMMU, Sept 11: Jammu Tigers trounced Jammu Kings by 8 wickets in a thrilling contest and lifted the   title trophy of the J&K Peace T-20 Championship, organized by Vishal Cricket Club (VCC) Jammu and District Sports Council Jammu, here today.
Jammu Kings XI won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 105 runs for the loss of all wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Surya was top scorer with 39 runs, while Aryan scored 21 runs and Aparjit made 13 runs.
From Jammu Tigers side, Jatin and Abay took 2 wickets each, while Umar, Molik, Rahil and Toushar claimed 1 wicket each.
In the second inning, Jammu Tigers XI achieved the target in 14 overs by losing 2 wickets. Ayush Anotra played a good innings of 59 runs, while Aditya and Arsh contributed with 19 and 11 runs.
From Jammu Kings side, Kanav claimed 1 wicket.
Ayush Anotra was adjudged  as Man of the Match and also was awarded with best batsman trophy. Abhay Tondon was declared as best bowler and Kartik clinched Man of the Series trophy.
On the valedictory function,  Sunil Kumar Sharma, Minister of State for Transport (Independent charge), Revenue, Public Works (Roads and Buildings), Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Agriculture Production, YSS was the chief guest, who presented trophies and medals among the winner and runner-up teams in presence of SSP Jammu Dr Sunil Gupta, who was guest of honour. SP Headquarters RC Kotwal was also present on the occasion.
The Organizing Committee members include Vinay Gupta, Ranjeet Kalra, Vijay Saberwal, Vivek Sharma, Vivek Shekher, RP Singh, Madan Mohan, Deepak Baba, Vivek Singh, Ravi Sharma, Jagtar Singh, Gurupartap Singh and Suresh Singh, whereas Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Player was the Chief Coordinator of the event.
In his address, Minister said that they will meet BCCI President Anurag Thakur in connection with promoting cricket in the State. He also announced that a mega cricket event analogous to IPL will be conducted at Kishtwar soon in order to promote the rural youths of the State.
The proceedings of the valedictory function was conducted by the RP Singh.
The final match was officiated by Saleem-Ur-Rehman and Sadiq Hussain as umpires, while the scorebook was maintained by Vinod Kandayara.
