JAMMU, Sept 11: Jammu Marathon successfully organized 2nd Promotional Run in Amritsar today in association with Decathlon.
The crowd of Amritsar exhibited the spirit of the sport and became a part of this event. They were at the Rose Garden, Ranjeet Avenue even before the sunrise. Over 300 people from all walks of life participated in this event.
A team of 11 professional athletes from Gill Sports Club were accompanied by their Coach Veer Singh Gill. A team of veterans and senior citizens also gave an overwhelming response and participated in the event. There were teams of professional runners from different colleges and universities too. The participants from these groups were the first ones to complete the 5 km and 10 km promo runs.
First 50 registries/ participants were given complimentary Jammu Marathon T-shirts and all the participants were provided hydration along the route and participation certificates.
This promo run was organized to spread awareness of the main event which will be held on November 13 in Jammu. This marathon will be a charity event which will help highlight the issue of orphans and underprivileged children and the funds will be utilized to uplift the children from the underprivileged section of our society.
Jammu Marathon is being organized by Jammu Marathon Team with the theme “Mentors of Hope” for orphans, autistic and underprivileged children”, powered by GLS Memorial Society and Education and Research and a team of professional marathon runners of national and international repute.
