JAMMU, Jan 16: A 21-member Judo team from Jammu and Kashmir, including 18 judokas and 3 officials, left today for the Sub Junior National Judo Championship 2024-25, set to take place in Pune, Maharashtra. After selection trials and screening conducted by the J&K Sports Council, the team members include Monik Thakur, Zabir Ahmed, Jaishwer Parley, Ritvik Sharma, Sahil Akhter, Sheikh Mohammad Shurian, Sahil Ashraf Lone, Raashid Hilal Beigh, Aadhavan Pargal, Manya Kandhari, Surbhi Anuragi, Sonia Devi, Pritama Devi, Abiroo Jan, Baiza Tariq, Aisha Hassan, Priyanka and Rafeshia Rashid.
The officials accompanying the team are Vikas Dogra, Shakti Gupta and Manish Chatwal. The team was seen off by Suraj Bhan Singh, Manager of the Indoor Sports Complex MA Stadium Jammu, along with Vikas Gupta and Suraj Sharma, General Secretary of the J&K Judo Association. This national championship provides an excellent opportunity for young judokas to compete and gain experience on a bigger stage.
