JAMMU, May 26: The District Jammu Pencak Silat Championship 2026 concluded today at Bhagwati Nagar Indoor Stadium amid enthusiastic participation from young athletes representing various schools and academies across the district.
The event showcased talent, discipline and competitive spirit across multiple weight categories in both boys’ and girls’ divisions.
DIG Civil Defence & SDRF Anita Sharma attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest, while Dr Bhawana Kaushal was the guest of honour. Addressing the participants, Anita Sharma emphasized the importance of sports and fitness in building a disciplined and drug-free society and encouraged athletes to continue pursuing excellence in sports.
The championship witnessed several impressive performances, with medal winners being honoured during the closing ceremony. In the girls’ category, Rehanshi Gupta, Gauravi Arora, Ardika Pandit, Akshita Verma and Aradhya secured gold medals in their respective weight categories. In the boys’ category, Renyanvik Chargotra, Mohd Atif, Gunban, Adhiraj Wadhera, Saransh Gupta, Laksh Sharma, Ritvik Kundal and Laksh Gupta emerged as gold medal winners.
